Learning Goal: I’m working on a health & medical case study and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

these are three questions from a long survey. that’s made for nurse students. what do you think about their answers what is your observation from their answers? what do they need to improve? and what is your suggestion? what other kinds of questions or how we can format those questions to be more understanding.

I’m not very experienced with the right way to respond using therapeutic phrases

For the most part I am comfortable but there might be a few topics that I wouldn’t know how to approach.

I have talked to my friends about mental health but never to strangers about it.

Somewhat comfortable because I have experience doing this with college students, but not adults older than I am.

I have had some experience dealing with patients who had positive depression screening and suicidal ideation but I don’t have a lot of information and experience regarding managing all other mental diseases as a nurse/nursing student

I have never really been given the opportunity, but I have talked to patients before at the mental health clinic

I recognize that mental health is extremely important to discuss, and I am open to being an active listener. What I would like to work and improve upon are my responses to those that are actively expressing concerns in regards to their mental health. I want to be as supportive as possible.

I am comfortable talking to patients about most anything – and I have gone through mental health issues myself so I understand therapeutic communication to another level. I definitely will need proper training to have some conversations in a professional manner.

I believe that mental health is very important and overlooked problem in our society. I love talking about mental health and after having my mental health rotation I feel more confident being able to talk to patients about it.

I can relate to patients because I have my own mental health concerns, but I know it makes other people uncomfortable and when I pick up on their discomfort it can be hard for me to talk about. I wouldn’t want to push someone who isn’t comfortable.

They play the role of ensuring that the community has the necessary knowledge and resources for optimal addressing of health and well-being

The few of the nurses roles in population health are being an advocate for the community, help patients find resources in their community, help educate, and determine and obstacles a patient might encounter.

The nurses role is of the outmost importance when it comes to population health management. If a nurse can impact a person, they can impact a whole population to better manage their health

The nurse has a role in connecting patients to proper resources, understanding individual needs, and advocating for patients. Education, research, and providing care for those in need to decrease the level of chronic diseases and readdmission to the hospitals They are active in working towards preventative care

I understand that nurses are the foundation to managing population health. With bedside experience and working within communities, they play an active role.

I think nurses here help bridge the gap between hospital care and home care. I think nurses advocate and give professional advice. I think nurses offer health screenings in a variety of different ways to help guide the patient to optimize their health at home.

I think the nurse is the bridge between the community and health care. They are on the ground reaching out and working in the community.

Nurses act as patient advocates and communicate experience from the front lines, and think systematically about how to implement broader scale solutions to address patient health outcomes.

Nurses help by providing resources to produce better outcomes in their communities.
